Well for one the World Cup has become a week long Paddlefest, with the Paddleride and Riverside Cross on the Vlatva river in the majestic old city in addition to the World Cup race in Troja.

Recently, Dostál has been on holiday to Paris, picking mushrooms in a forest near his family’s cottage and relaxing in Hawaii. He also completed a marathon race in Bohemia, where he suffered excruciating pain after struggling to finish. But as we speak, Josef Dostál, the K-1 and K-4 1000m World Champion, is diligently preparing for the new racing season. During November he is exchanging the cloudy Czech weather for sunny California.

On the 4th and 5th January 2014, the seventh annual floorball tournament was held in Praha-Troja in the Czech Republic. A mixture of slalom, rafting, downriver, sprint and polo paddlers came to try out their skills in this new sport. This particular tournament was founded in 2008 by Michal Makovský, who passed away unexpectedly last year.
