Racice | International Canoe Federation - The 18-year-old Serbian Marko Dragosavljevic stole the show with an explosive performance, and celebration, in the K1 Men 200m on the final day of action at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup, Racice.

In a world class field, that included Olympic gold and bronze medalist Ed McKeever and Mark De Jonge, the young European Junior silver medalist showed his strength and stopped the clock fractionally ahead Cesar De Cesare (ECU), the winner at the first World Cup in Szeged a week ago.

Dragosavljevic's joy of taking his first major senior title was evident as he jumped in the air in celebration, screaming up and down the pontoon.

Serbia secured a second gold of the day when sisters Nikolina and Olivera Moldovan teamed up in the K2 Women 200m. This is their second World Cup win in as many weeks over the same distance.

Local favourite Martin Fuska (CZE) gave the home supporters an opportunity to cheer as he pulled away to win in convincing style in the C1 Men 500m.

Russia and Canada each won three gold medals and were the biggest winners of the day.

Commenting after his victory in the C1 Men 200m, Russia's Ivan Shtyl said, "Winning two weeks in a row shows I am consistent and have stability. We have a very strong team, we are all getting ready for the Russian trials."

Also winning two on the bounce are the K2 Men 200m Yury Postrygay and Alexander Dyachenko, plus the C2 200m team of Nikolay Lipkin and Alexander Kovalenko.

The Canadian women dominated the canoe events with the impressive Laurence Vincent-Lapointe first winning the C1 Women 200m; she then teamed up with Sara-Jane Caumartin to win the C2 Women 500m.

They secured their third medal in the C1 Men 5000m with Paul Bryant pulling away on the last lap.
