Essen, Germany, hosted this year’s European Canoe Polo Championships, with more than 400 athletes from 19 countries participating at this event. The competition welcomed teams in four categories – men’s, women’s, men’s U21 and women’s U21.
Germany is all set to welcome more than 400 athletes at the 2015 ECA European Canoe Polo Championships. The championships will take place in Essen from 26th to 30th August 2015.
Six out of seven of the New Zealand representative canoe polo teams took away gold last weekend at the Oceania Championships, held at Nagambie Lakes, Victoria, Australia.
The Gauteng Barbarians produced an upset win over the Gauteng Men’s team at the end of the South African Canoe Polo Championships on the weekend, winning the final of the Senior Men’s division at Emmarentia dam.
A record 14 Australian teams have been selected to compete at the 2015 Oceania Championships. The competition will take place at the Nagambie Regatta Centre, Victoria form April 9 – 11.
Germany confirmed their total domination in the women categories against Great-Britain, while France offered a third title to their extraordinary audience in the men competition. Spain won their first world medal in a refreshing battle against Italy.
The 8000 spectators present in the boiling hot arena of Thury-Harcourt this Saturday enjoyed one more day of thrilling competition and celebrated loudly the titles of France and Germany, 2014 ICF U21 World Champions.
The 11th edition of the ICF Canoe Polo World Championships takes place from 23-28 September in Thury-Harcourt, France. 510 players will represent 27 countries and qualified for the competition based on the position that they finished at previous World Championships and in between, Continental Championships.
For the first time the canoeing community was part of the E.ON Hanse AlsterCup along the “Jungfernstieg” promenade. The German Canoe Federation sent their best athletes for the sprint races on the 200m track and for the canoe polo tournament, where Switzerland women and Denmark men were opponents.
Netherlands eliminated France, favorite of the Men competition, before beating Germany in what will be remembered as an epic final. With one medal in each category Germany dominates these Canoe Polo World Championships in Poznan.
