Maria Halavrezos

Maria Halavrezos is a sprint canoeist hailing from Canada’s East Coast. She currently lives in Montreal where she balances her training with choir rehearsals, volunteering and earning a degree in Cultural Studies and Management from McGill University.

Marthe de Ferrer

Marthe de Ferrer is a British 18-year old flat-water kayaker, and the current World Youth Quadrathlon Champion. After competing as a triathlete and swimmer, Marthe switched to kayaking aged 11 and has never looked back.

Mikel Sarasola

Mikel was born and raised in San Sebastián, where he still resides. He studied Building Engineering and lives and breathes kayaking.

Miro Haviar

Miro Haviar from Slovakia has built an impressive database with all marathon, canoe slalom and sprint results, which even goes back to the Berlin 1936 Olympic Games.

Nelo International

Nelo is now one of the largest canoe manufacturers in the world and with no doubt one of the best.

Nina Jelenc

Nina has been around paddling and major canoe slalom competitions since she was born. Daughter of a Wildwater World Champion, she has dabbled in the sport herself, but prefers keep her feet dry to report and photograph events now instead.

Nouria Newman

Nouria, whose father is from London, originally comes from La Plagne in The Alpes and learnt to ski when she could walk. She discovered kayaking later on after having learnt how to swim first, a prerequisite in France.

Distance open-water racing in surfskis, outriggers or sea kayaks usually in and out of surf.

Outrigger

A traditional water-craft with two hulls (cockpit and float); you paddle alone, as a pair, 3, 4, 6 or 12!

Paracanoeing

Disability flatwater sprint paddling over 200m in single/double kayaks and outrigger (va'a) canoes.
