Szeged, Racice and the ICF Canoe Sprint Ranking
World Cup #1 of the ICF world cup series wrapped up in Szeged, Hungary over the past weekend. The Hungarians managed to finish the weekend with the top medal count with an amazing 6 gold, 8 silvers, and 4 bronze medals. Now it’s on to the 2nd World Cup in Racice, Czech Republic where 36 nations and over 400 athletes will battle for the top medal spots.

The ladies opened the day with K4 500m and a line-up that had an Olympic theme: reigning champion Hungarian quartet (Gabriella Szabo, Danuta Kozak, Katalin Kovacs, Krisztina Fazekas Zur) faced the Polish engine composed of Magdalena Krukowska / Karolina Naja / Beata Mikolajczyk / Edyta Dzieniszewska.
