The Oklahoma River became the world’s first permanently lit racecourse June 29 in Oklahoma City. A ceremony marked the occasion during the second annual SandRidge Energy Stars and Stripes River Festival.

Brazil showed their canoeing credentials winning two gold medals at the 2013 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Poznan, Poland this weekend. Following the appointment of a new coach the Brazillian athletes are beginning to show signs of real progress as they start on the road to Rio 2016.
Andreas Ihle (born June 2, 1979 in Bad Dürrenberg, Saxony-Anhalt) is a German sprint canoer who has competed since 1997. Competing in four Summer Olympics, he won three medals with a gold (K2 1000m: 2008), a silver (K4 1000m: 2004) and a bronze (K2 1000m: 2012).
Continuing their strong showing from 2012, this year’s second World Cup in Račice, Czech Republic, boasted a competitive contingent of women canoers from across the globe.
