Decked out in Czech colours from head to toe, this year’s local womens youth team are arguably the most colourful athletes at the 2012 Youth and Masters World Championships, set to commence in Ceske Budejovice tomorrow.
The women’s Russian youth team have their sights set on victory at the inaugural Youth and Masters World Championships at the Ceske Budejovice Whitewater course, commencing this Saturday.

Rafting competitions consist of 4 disciplines or challenges: Sprint, Head-to-Head (H2H), Slalom and Downriver. The points earned in each discipline are added to determine the Overall winner and final positions. Each team has four or six members with the option to have a reserve.

Not many of us will have heard much about rafting in Albania, but for over 15 years a few Albanians have been pioneering rafting in their country. Zamo Spathara was involved in the first exploration of the Osumi Canyon in 1985.
The German youth team coming to the Youth and Euro Champs 2012 has one change in the team since their success at the 2010 Youth WRC. The team consists of Leonhard Anzinger, René Raschka, Merlin and Gabriel Holzapfel.
The Czech Boaters Union (SVoCR) cordially invites all IRF member federations to send their selected Youth and Masters teams to the 2012 Youth & Masters World Rafting Championship in the Czech Republic. The Youth event will be only be the second of its kind, whereas the Masters World Rafting Championships will be the very first race at this level in the history of rafting.
Rotorua is excited about its selection to host the 2012 Pre Worlds and the 2013 World Rafting Championships in November next year as it will be the first time the international event has been staged in New Zealand.
