Whitewater timing system for Kawerau

Kawerau District Council is presently working on the installation of a specialist whitewater timing system to be used during future whitewater sports held in Kawerau. This will provide top international quality timing results for future slalom and whitewater races to be held on the Tarawera River.

Teams getting ready for WRC Opening Ceremony

Turrialba, Costa Rica - About 350 competitors representing a total of 32 countries are getting ready for the 2011 World Rafting Championships opening ceremony. In the next few days 19 women’s teams and 29 men’s teams will compete in sprint, head-to-head, slalom and down river.

Day 4 - A full day of racing

Today was a busy day on the course at the Teva World Rafting Champs (WRC) and Teva Youth World Rafting Champs. The Youth event had its last event the downriver while the WRC had their first 2 events, the sprint and head to head (H2H).

Day 3 - 2010 Youth World Rafting Championships

Today’s Youth Teva World Rafting Championships had the teams using their technical skills to their fullest. The slalom course consisted of 12 gates hanging over the river in positions that many teams had trouble with while others made the course look easier.
