Hungarian Honved Canoe Sprint Club trains in Abu Dhabi

The late autumn-winter training camp of the the Honved Canoe Club took off in Abu Dhabi in October last year. Attila Vajda also joined. The weather was stunning and everyone was happy with the conditions, the training environment and the facilities.

K4 wins first gold ever for Kazakhstan at the 2014 Asian Games: next step Rio!

Ilya Golenda, Daulet Sultanbekov and Andrey Erguchev are three quarters of a Kazakh K4 team who have all just turned 20. They are considered heroes of their team as they have won Kazakhstan’s first kayaking gold medal at the Asian Games. Joining these three young athletes is the experienced competitor Alexander Emelyanov, who has experience of winning medals at the Asian Games and is 10 years older than his teammates.

Sprint World Champion Josef Dostál helps to test a new K1 for rough conditions

Recently, Dostál has been on holiday to Paris, picking mushrooms in a forest near his family’s cottage and relaxing in Hawaii. He also completed a marathon race in Bohemia, where he suffered excruciating pain after struggling to finish. But as we speak, Josef Dostál, the K-1 and K-4 1000m World Champion, is diligently preparing for the new racing season. During November he is exchanging the cloudy Czech weather for sunny California.

A few weeks ago the French canoe sprint teams were training by age and category. The juniors were in Nancy (East of France), the senior kayak men in Vaires-sur-Marne (Paris area) and the kayak women in Cesson-Sévigné (Brittany) under the leadership of Claudine Leroux.

Tomasz Kryk optimistic about the upcoming kayaking season!

It’s no secret that the women are the stand-outs on the kayaking team. Tomasz Kryk's charges are still nursing injuries; however, the 'Rio de Janeiro' operation will soon get underway, because the Olympic qualifiers are planned for the World Championships in August next year.
