Essen is ready for the 2015 European Canoe Polo Championships

By Nina Jelenc | Germany is all set to welcome more than 400 athletes at the 2015 ECA European Canoe Polo Championships. The championships will take place in Essen from 26th to 30th August 2015.

The participating athletes will come from 19 different European countries, including Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Ukraine, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden and of course the host nation Germany.

In the men’s senior event 18 teams will participate in the tournament,  in women’s event 10 teams, in U21 men’s 14 teams, while 7 teams will participate in the women’s U21 part of the tournament.

The Championships will begin on Wednesday, 26th August with an opening ceremony and conclude on Sunday with the finals in all categories. The organizers will also provide live stream of the championships, covering the centre court.

Thursday, 27/08/2015: 8:30 – 19:00
Friday, 28/08/2015: 8:00 – 17:30
Saturday, 29/08/2015: 8:30 – 17:20
Sunday, 30/08/2015: 8:00 – 17:00

Group stage of the tournament will take place from Thursday to Saturday, with finals coming on Sunday. U21 women’s category will play for the gold medals on Sunday at 14:00, followed by U21 men at 14:45, women’s final at 15:30 and men’s final at 16:15.
