Mouth to Mouth 2014 Surfski Race Report

The Mouth to Mouth Surfski race is held on 40km of the most pristine and untouched coastline, possibly anywhere in the world. Between Richards Bay Harbour and Mtunzini river mouth on the Kwazulu Natal North Coast, the only sign of civilization is a light house at the 23 km mark. Paddling this stretch of coast line is eerie. It's long been on my bucket list, and when the NE blows, it is an amazing downwind surfski run.

Fabien Lefèvre Wants To Usher In New Era In Canoe And Kayak

Drinking a coffee and eating a croissant at a local bakery, a patron noticed the shirt fellow diner and canoe and kayak athlete Fabien Lefèvre was wearing.

It was a white long-sleeved Team USA white tee from the recent 2014 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, which took place at the Deep Creek whitewater course in McHenry, Maryland on Sept. 20. The man had no idea who Lefèvre was, but knew about the world championship event. He asked Lefèvre if he attended it.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission brought to a close its seventh visit (29 September to 1 October) to the South American host city today: it follows a successful winter here for Brazil and for the country’s preparations for the Olympic Games, which included the FIFA World Cup, Rio 2016’s first test event, the Rio 2016 World Press Briefing and the Rio 2016 World Broadcasters Meeting.
