ICF Freestyle World Championships: Change in schedule

A possible rise of the river Isars water level end of the week is forcing the Organizing Committee of the ICF Freestyle World Championships to make precautious schedule changes. The authorities of the city of Plattling have forecasted a rise which could endanger the carrying out of the scheduled competitions for the week end. For this reason Wednesdays schedule will be tightened and some of runs which were planned for Thursday will be held one day earlier.

“The security of the athletes, spectators and staff here at the ICF Freestyle World Championships is most important for us. That’s why we have decided to tighten the schedule on Wednesday. This gives us enough scope to react and make possible further changes in the schedule, depending on the water levels development”, said Robert Sommer, Chairman of the Organizing Committee. “Tomorrow we will have enough information to make our decision, after we have talked to the team captains, the cities authorities and the police. Tomorrow we will announce our decisions at a press conference. A big thank you to the city of Plattling for the great cooperation regarding this challenge.”

At 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22nd the Organizing Committee will hold a press conference where all possible further actions will be announced. The conference will be held at the Bürgerspital Plattling where the press centre is located. Participants will include Robert Sommer, Chief of the Organizing Committee, ICF Chairman José Perurena López, Lluis Rabaneda, ICF Freestyle Chairman and Erich Schmid, Mayor of the city of Plattling.
