Sportscene produces for Slovenian Television

Sportscene was commissioned by Andrej Jelenc, the CEO of the Slovenian Canoe Federation, to film various aspects of their national slalom team for broadcast. Slovenia was competing in the C1, C2 and K1 Men, and the K1 Women, during their warm-weather training camp at the 2000 Wildwater Stadium in Penrith. Sportscene travelled with the squad to Sydney, in order to cover the training and races of the paddlers, as well as a collection of pre and post race interviews.
The work involved varied, and was detailed and thorough. Sportscene started by discussing and preparing the scripts, then shooting the footage before editing it appropriately for broadcast. Once the clips were ready for viewing, the visuals were uploaded in Australia, allowing the broadcasters in Slovenia to download the programme. The feature was broadcast at prime time in Slovenia on several occasions, with both the television company and Andrej Jelenc being extremely pleased with the work. Most impressive to Jelenc were both the speed of delivery, as well as the high quality of the visuals.
From an athlete's perspective, Sportscene seemed to deliver well too, with brilliant feedback from the paddlers involved. The feature allowed a broad audience further understanding of their sport, as well as vital exposure in this Olympic year. The viewers were offered a chance to watch and appreciate the hard work these athletes put in at the high level they compete at.
Overall this has been a fantastic venture for Sportscene, who have proved their ability to compete with other, larger companies - but with far more accessible rates. For other Canoeing federations and broadcasters, Sportscene are able to deliver a range of services: interviews; footage of training and races etc.; at a high enough quality for international broadcasting, or inclusion in features. As an extra advantage in this increasingly global society, the soundbites and interviews can be carried out in any language desired.
If you or your organisation are interested in using Sportscene for this sort of work, they will be based in Europe between April and October. For more information, please contact Rob van Bommel at: rob@sportscene.tv
