(Open) Whitewater canoeing in Mexico

Open Canoeing is usually limited with paddling locations by the size of the canoe. However, Jim Coffey from Esprit International (a well known single blader himself) ) has opened canoeing up in Mexico by building a fleet of Esquif Canoes in Jalcomulco, Mexico.
In 2011 a team of the world’s top OC paddlers came down to Mexico to test out this fleet on some of the classic runs in the Veracruz region. The team consisted of Mark Scriver and his son Ian, Matt Godsoe, Dave Humphrys, and Coffey.
The action was captured by Five2Nine and it was an impressive display of Canoeing steep, action packed whitewater on the Alseseca River.
