Off to Sickline 2013 – a personal thank you from Ros Lawrence
Ros Lawrence is going to Sickline 2013! Only just two days ago did she reach the $4000 required for this year's extreme competition in Austria.
With 5 days to go, Ros achieved the milestone amount following an uncertain couple of months. She has been selling merchandise and river/raft trips under her own instruction as well as a couple of nights in her friends' villa!
Sportscene is proud to have helped Ros's campaign when we profiled her over a month ago. Ros was thrilled when she woke up this morning to the good news and would personally like to thank you everyone out there who contributed:
“I'm very happy that everything has gone to plan. I'd like to say a huge thank-you to all my family and friends and everyone that has supported my campaign, my new business sponsors Clarence River Canoes, Sportscene and Go Sea Kayak Byron Bay and the guys at Sportaroo, as well as Jacqui and Torsten (my sister and brother-in-law) for their hard work.
Now I have a busy couple of weeks ahead of me getting the supporter packages printed and delivering them to everybody. I'm just aiming to paddle well at Sickline, hopefully even better than last year. I hope the other girls show what they can do as well, and if they beat me in the process it doesn't matter! In the meantime I am leaving for Europe in seven days, and I have a heck of a lot of slalom racing to do before I get to Sickline.”
The question is now, can Ros win it? The Adidas Sickline takes places from the 3-5th October in Oetztal, Austria.
