6th Adidas Sickline Extreme Worlds Live
Whitewater paddlers crown sixth Extreme Kayak World Champion in Ötztal, Austria

Between the 3rd and the 5th of October 2013, 150 of the world’s best whitewater kayakers from 24 different countries meet in Tirol’s longest alpine valley to determine the adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Champion on the legendary “Wellerbrücke” rapids.
24-year old Sam Sutton from Rotorua, New Zealand impressively demonstrated last year that for three years in a row he had been the fastest extreme paddler in the world. At the fifth anniversary of the adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Championship, Sutton defended his title once again with a winning time of 56.92 seconds, which was not as fast as the course record he had set in 2011 (55.84), but fast enough to win the gold medal ahead of Dejan Kralj from Slovenia (57.81) and New Zealand’s Mike Dawson (58.38).

Ben_Brown to commentate live stream on Extreme.com
Kayaking legend Ben_Brown from New Zealand, one of the best extreme kayakers in the world, will commentate the live webcast of the adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Championship. Ben’s love for the sport has taken him all over the world to find new rivers; backpacking to the remotest parts of Africa or paddling icy cold European waters. People who choose Ben for their most difficult kayaking expeditions say about him “his understanding of the water and environment around him are unusual and he’s got a level of paddling that few people will ever attain.
