   This years winners of the league series were crowned British Champions and were given automatic entry on the team. Everyone else competed for one less place per category on the team at HPP in Nottingham.

   After finishing competing, Eric returned to the sport as a coach. He started coaching a group of young athletes at Elmbridge canoe club. Within two years he had lead Tim Brabants and Paul Darby-Dowman to Great Britains’ first Junior World Championship gold medal.

   Great Britain's Patrick Mahoney has been voted the ICF 2011 Paracanoeist of the Year, he is the current World Champion in the V1 LTA category, a title he won in August at the 2011 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Szeged, Hungary.
