   Russia's canoe slalom champion Kirill Setkin has been suspended from competition for six months for doping offenses. Kirill Setkin, 19, was temporarily banned in September after he was found to have taken a banned substance.

   An early legacy of world-class new sporting facilities was unveiled today as HRH The Princess Royal viewed the white water canoe centre for the London 2012 Games - the first brand new 2012 venue completed by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA). The Lee Valley White Water Centre has been built near Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire and will host the Canoe Slalom events during the Olympic Games.

   Today was a busy day on the course at the Teva World Rafting Champs (WRC) and Teva Youth World Rafting Champs. The Youth event had its last event the downriver while the WRC had their first 2 events, the sprint and head to head (H2H).

   Today’s Youth Teva World Rafting Championships had the teams using their technical skills to their fullest. The slalom course consisted of 12 gates hanging over the river in positions that many teams had trouble with while others made the course look easier.

    The 740-kilometer wilderness adventure paddling race is held on the Yukon River from Whitehorse to Dawson City in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Held during the last week of June, the YRQ is known as the “Race to the Midnight Sun”. Paddlers race round-the-clock, as the sky never gets dark.
