Sportscene and NPRF form partnership

Sportscene has formed a new partnership with the organisation of the Noguera Pallaresa River Festival (NPRF) to promote their 2012 event to be held from 26-30 September.
Since commencing in 2009, Sportscene have become one of the largest social media platforms for paddle sports in the world, and plan to use their extensive knowledge and following on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, as well as their website (http://www.sportscene.tv) to promote the NPRF.
The 2012 Noguera Pallaresa River Festival will be based in Llavorsi, Spain, with the majority of competition to take place on the festival namesake, the ‘Noguera Pallaresa’ River, which is located in Catalonia and is 154 kilometres in length and flows from the Pyrenees’ mountains.
NPRF will consist of Downriver paddling on the Noguera River with the Classic section to be raced on Wednesday and a 45km event on Thursday. Clinics will be conducted most days where you can get an introduction into most paddle sports including a Freestyle demonstration from Erik Jackson, Nick Trouman and Dane Jackson. The festival will also include a safety demonstration video, a Pyranha v Dagger test at the Sort Slalom venue and announce the winner of the ‘Kayak Session short film of the Year’.
NPRF is as much about promoting whitewater (canoeing) as it is about promoting the local region which is renowned for its spectacular surroundings, and for offering plenty of options to enjoy outdoor activities such as white water rafting, canyoning, hydrospeed, canoe/kayak and horse riding to name a few.
One of the bigger towns in the area, Sort, is set 692m above sea level in the Pyrenees and offers a variety of accommodation and traditional cuisine, while Gastronomy – the science of food, is also well renowned in the region.
NPRF Director Lluis Rabaneda Caselles looks forward to the opportunity of working alongside Sportscene, “The new partnership with Sportscene is fantastic for our event as we look to increase the profile of the whitewater sports in the region, and have our largest attendance so far.”
Sportscene’s experience and audience across the major social media platforms for paddle sports will aid us in increasing and promoting this year’s event.
Sportscene Director Rob van Bommel said, “I think it is a beautiful region and a fantastic initiative by Lluis. An event that would be great to be part of. The region is of great interest to me with its outdoor lifestyle and I feel that the paddle sports social media platforms that we have built can assist the NPRF.”
