Revamping paddle sports; Sportscene mobile site goes live

Nick Harding | @nickhdg | Sportscene - Super-soaking its followers with Slalom, Sprint, Freestyle and Marathon news*, race feeds and athlete pages, Sportscene has launched a mobile application for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry.
Imagine being mid-leisure paddle and you have forgotten to check the latest kayak results before setting off. You pull into an eddy, open your dry bag and connect to Sportscene on your phone to get in the know.
Imagine being riverbank-side watching the latest marathon in Rome, you are unable to see the finish or see an electronic scoreboard. Solution; connect to Sportscene Mobile for the latest results.
Imagine your London underground train eases to a delayed halt, you connect to the free WIFI and can browse your favourite athlete's profile to pass the time.
This world-first mobile application is revolutionary for the paddle sports community and has been eagerly awaited.
Being internationally accessible, information is collated from round-the-world sites and the Sportscene Contributors. The menus are inventive, catchy and separated by discipline into sub-categories. Fans and enthusiasts can quickly browse for their specific needs whilst newcomers can get a real feel for the world of paddle sports.
A group of twenty multi-national students were asked to browse the site on their mobile devices, their feedback is reticent of how promising this application really is.
The majority found the site easy to navigate and those who had little knowledge about canoe-kayak fixtures quickly became hooked, opening their eyes to the paddle universe. With a colour scheme that mirrors the website, the originality of the layout and design of icons grabbed the individuals' attention.
'If I were to follow paddle sports intently, I would use Sportscene.'
'I like the news feeds the best, they're really interesting as canoe news is never printed in the papers.'
* The mobile site kicks off with freestyle, marathon, sprint and slalom. However content concerning the other paddle sports is available in mobile format.
