Two years ago, December 2011, www.sportscene.tv was launched. 2012 was a better year because of the Olympic Games but statistics are given for calendar year 2013 since these are more representative. 

Visits (2013)*

• The website was visited 572 thousand times (572,274).
• This is almost 48 thousand visits/month and 1,570 visits/day.
• Most visits come from the English speaking countries and the traditional large paddlesport countries such as France and Germany. We have seen an interesting rise in visits from China, Russia and India. 

Pages (2013)

• 3.3 million pages were visited (3,317,730).
• This is 276 thousand pages/month and nine thousand pages/day.
• On average 5.8 pages are visited per visit.
• At the end of each month over 2,600 different pages (url's) are visited. To date the Sportscene website has more than 3,000 entries (unique pages or url's). This number is growing every day.

Conclusion

We don't know how these numbers compare to other websites since benchmark studies are not available. Because the website started 23 months ago we expect these numbers will grow. Ongoing efforts are made to improve the quality of content for a broad audience, which varies from 'experts' to 'enthusiasts', federations and mainstream media. Also the introduction of new innovative ideas and a new (second) website in the coming months will contribute to an increasing interest and growth of paddlesports.
