Sprint athlete Vincent Słomiński has ambitious plans for the new season!
Vincent Słomiński (Stomil Poznań) – one of the most-talented canoeists in Poland – gets a new individual sponsor

Source: Glos Wielkopolski | Translation: Monika Marczak - The 22-year-old athlete became affiliated with Steelbud. Thanks to its support, the winner of the last World Cup in Milan (in a double with Tomasz Kaczor) will be even better-able to prepare for the upcoming season, in which he will have the opportunity to qualify a spot for the Olympics.
'I'm glad that even though our sport is not as popular as team games, my club still managed to find me a sponsor', highlighted Słomiński. 'It's worth supporting athletes such as Vincent so that they are able to better prepare for the biggest events, including for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro', noted Roman Bukowski – CEO of Steelbud with headquarters in the same suburb as the club, i.e. Starołęka. The talented canoeist from Stomil can, therefore, calmly prepare for the most-important events of next year. 'I have already been at the Poznań club for four years and even if I hadn't gotten a new sponsor, I would not consider changing club colours. I am fond of Stomil and know that the section is developing around me. However, it's never economically so good that it couldn't be better', noted Rafał Rogoziecki's charge.
Steelbud will dedicate a certain amount each month to Słomiński's needs. 'On the one hand I was shocked that I managed to get an individual sponsor, and on the other I was extremely happy, because such systematic support will definitely help me. How can I repay this? Certainly through advertising on my outfit during competition. Canoeing doesn't really have serious restrictions when it comes to promoting sponsors' brands. The Olympics are an exception, but there every athlete must be aware that they cannot bear the logo of a company other than the one that is sponsoring the Olympics', explained Słomiński. In the upcoming season, he wants to focus on the C1. 'That's my attitude, but all plans will be verified during March consultations in Wałcz, followed by the Polish Championships. If I have the best times of the national team, then I will likely compete in the C1 at the World Championships in Milan', added Słomiński.
We also asked him when the male kayaking team will catch up to the female team. 'Athletes such as Marta Walczykiewicz and Beata Mikołajczyk are, quite simply, a level above us. To catch up to them we must learn from them and look closely at what they're doing, like we recently did at the camp in Livigno, Italy', finished the canoeist from Stomil Poznań.
