Final day of competition at the 2013 ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships

The U23 Men’s K1 200 was a nail-biter that was too close to call. Six paddlers crossed the line split seconds apart. Gold went to Russia’s Aleksandr Nikolaev with a time of (00:34.70), silver to Hungary’s Miklós Dudas with a time of (00:34.76) and a tie for bronze at (00:34.78) for Bulgaria’s Kristian Dushev and Spain’s Carlos Garrote.
All eyes were peeled to on the U23 Men’s K4 1000 final. Slovakia had a ¾ boat lead for the first half of the race. At the 500-metre mark Russia, Hungary and Serbia began to surge forward and closed the gap for a close finish.
