Clint Robinson’s prediction for the winning K1 1000 London 2012
Last month we published an article with the January 2012 Olympic Medal prediction for sprint. This prediction is based on an algorithm that monitors athletes’ performances leading up to the Games. Obviously this prediction was received with a healthy suspicion.
So the alternative is to ask people what they think instead of calculating the odds. Coaches, athletes or other people with years of experience in de sport. We asked Clint Robinson who he thinks can win the K1 1000 at the Olympic Games in London this year. Robinson has won a complete set of medals at the Olympic Games in his career so far, gold: 1992 K-1 1000 m, silver: 2004: K-2 500 m, and bronze: 1996 K-1 1000 m. At the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, Robinson won four medals with a gold (K-1 1000 m: 1994), two silvers (K-1 1000 m: 1995, K-4 10000 m: 1991), and a bronze (K-2 500 m: 1994). At home in Maroochydore, Queensland, Australia he is also coaching the members of his surf life saving club.
So dear reader, watch and listen to Robinson's prediction in the last part of the video in the above as a sound alternative for algorithms. Who might win the 1000 in the K1 at the Olympic Games this year? And if you still disagree with the statistics and other people's insights, well then dear reader, it's time to speak up yourself...
