The European Canoe Association as the leading institution of the European canoe sport announced a competition to design a new ECA logo. An attempt to modernize a logo is a part of media activities European Canoe Association wishes to implement in the future.

European Canoe Association (ECA) wishes to make its activities more open in the future and the first step is to invite all interested parties to participate in the competition for a new logo. There has been a decision not to involve professional graphic companies in order to create a logo, but to give a chance to individuals, members of canoe clubs, interested athletes and other stakeholders with interesting ideas and talent to present their vision what the new look should be like.

Everybody who wants to take part is welcome to send a draft of a new ECA logo with detailed explanations about its meaning and personal contact information before October 1, 2015 to the ECA office via email: canoe.europe@gmail.com.

The ECA will provide an amount of 1.000,00€ as a prize money for this logo competition. The participant or club whose proposal will be chosen receives a prize money of 600,00€, the second one 250,00€ and the third one 150,00€. A jury is already appointed and consists of selected ECA members and professional graphic designer.

The ECA reserves the right to reject the logos entered in the competition in case they do not meet the demands and expectations. In case none of the logos entered in the competition meets the expectations the selection process is postponed until further notice.

The jury will present a recommendation for the new logo and its specifications before November 6th to the ECA Board of Directors and will announce the winner of the competition in January 2016.
