2015 Canoe Sprint Coach Course Level 2 in Tunis

No Proofreading - The International Canoe Federation (ICF) and the Tunisian Canoe Federation offered their Canoe Sprint Coach’s Course Level 2 in Tunis, Tunisia and was led by ICF Expert, Canoeing PhD Alessandra Maria Pinto.
Following the Education Program of the International Canoe Federation, the Tunisian Canoe Federation held in the period of 20th to 28th of March to of 2015, the Canoe Sprint Coach’s Course Level 2 with collaboration of the Confederation African of Canoeing (CAC).
The aim of this course was to provide information and knowledge for the coaches to prepare a team for to be part in National and International Competitions.
Twelve participants were registered, representing different areas of Tunisia. The course lasted around 80 hours spread out over 10 days, including meetings, practical and theoretical classes and a visit to the Clubs in two different cities:
- Sousse in the center of Tunisia (2 hours by car) from Tunis. The nautical sports is very popular in this area, because all the activities are practice in the marine port and the “Club Nautique de Sousse” is very traditional and with good facilities. Actually there are around 50 athletes practicing Canoeing.
- Bizerte in the north of Tunisia: (1 hour by car) from Tunis. The main activities in this club are Canoeing and Sailing, the facilities are very good and close to a big channel where is perfect for canoeing training. Actually there are around 40 athletes training and is important inform that the national and Olympic athletes Mrabet Mohamed Ali come from this small and beautiful village.
The contents treated on the theoretical and practical sessions were: Analysis of Kayaking and Canoe Technique, Physical Skills, Training Method, Periodization of training, Competition strategies, New Technologies of Control, Talent Spotting, Women and training, Coach and Motivation.
All the participants had very good basement of the Course Level I, and were very motivated and open to exchange the canoeing contents and experiences.
The assistants participated in a final exam that consisted in 25 extensive write questions and various presentations about the Training Plan and the Analysis of Technique. All students passed the exam and therefore obtained a Certificate of Level 2.
The lecture Alessandra remind that this Course started just two days after the terrific attempted in the Museum of Tunis, where 22 people were died. Even with the sadness inside of our heart the president of Tunisian Canoe Federation Mr. Mohsen Takrouni give all the support for keep forward with the project and to show to everyone that: The Tunisian people are very smile and kind people and Tunisia is a very peaceful country.
