The 2012 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships will be run in the center of the city of Rome along Tiber river with the arrival line be placed near the historical Milvio bridge of Roman epoch. Fans and coaches will be able to follow the race from the right bank of the river, where the green areas are located.

Starting line will be set through a wharf about 80 meters wide and individual Automatic Starting System blocks will be available, with specialized personnel ready to work on the anchorage.
The disembarkation area will be placed in a regular sandy zone which will avoid the using of any wharfs as all competitors will be able to run along a specific path made of sand and grass.
