Fox outguns senior men to record fastest time in Tasmania
Written by: Tom Collings | Photo: Dean Tonkin - Jessica Fox demonstrated just why she is the number one ranked female paddler in the world by recording the fastest run on day two of the Australian Slalom Championships in Tasmania this morning.
The London Olympic silver medalist made light work of the Mersey River course, recording a time of 83.47 to qualify fastest for tomorrow morning’s K1 final.
Remarkably her time was faster than what the C1M could produce in their heats which followed.
Fox finished more than five seconds ahead of 2015 runner-up Rosalyn Lawrence. Taking out the under-23 age group in the process.
If Fox is successful in tomorrow’s final, it will be her third straight K1 national title and her fourth in the past five years.
This afternoon Fox also won the C1W national title ahead of Kate Eckhardt and Ros Lawrence.
