Public Voting is opened
ENGLISH - The World Paddle Awards 2014, the 'Oscars of Paddlesports' - Public Voting is open.
The premier event in paddlesports and first of its kind, the World Paddle Awards (WPA) for the 2014 season will take place on Saturday 9th May 2015 in Augsburg (Germany). The objective of the awards is to celebrate excellence in paddlesports; achievements by athletes and those involved in the sport. The public online voting campaign is now open at http://www.worldpaddleawards.com.
The World Paddle Awards are divided into seven categories. Hundreds of suggestions have been received from the public and nearly 50 candidates have been selected for the next round of voting.
From now on the voting campaign is live on http://www.worldpaddleawards.com via Facebook, Twitter and Google+. The campaign will close in late January 2015. In February, the Top 3 finalists in each category will be announced with the winner revealed at the official ceremony in Augsburg on Saturday 9th May 2015.
WPA-Director Rob van Bommel (Australia) is delighted by the positive feedback from the nomination stage: “It is amazing to see how many wonderful people and achievements there are in our paddlesports-community! We believe that the World Paddle Awards is a great initiative to promote our sport globally along with its wonderful achievements."

DEUTSCH - Mit den “World Paddle Awards” hat nun erstmals auch der Kanusport seine "Oscars". Die herausragenden Athleten, Athletinnen und Leistungen im internationalen Kanusport des Jahres 2014 sollen gewürdigt werden. Das öffentliche Voting per Online-Abstimmung ist ab sofort frei geschaltet unter www.worldpaddleawards.com. Die Premiere der Sieger-Zeremonie findet am 9. Mai 2015 in Augsburg (Deutschland) statt.
